HTML5 <video> tag mp4, ogv, webm

logo petit webinard pratique
You need your video clip to be seen by most of your visitors. You are using HTML5 <video> tags and some browsers cannot read your video file. If you have a video OGV or a video WEBM, only Firefox, Google-Chromium and Opera can read it. If you have a video MP4 only Safari and IE9 can read it. So the best is to have this video converted into these three files. Soon i suppose we'll just need MP4 and WEBM files.

Then, add these lines in your .htaccess file, it will send correct mime-types to the different browsers
AddType video/mp4 .mp4
AddType video/ogg .ogg
AddType video/webm .webm
*When upload my video files, i rename video OGV to video OGG. Did you do that? If not, add this line in .htaccess:
AddType video/ogv .ogv

Now, let's embed these video files:
<video control=controls width 450 height 320>
<source src="http:// www.wubijacq.com/wubijacq-video.mp4" type video/mp4>
<source src="http://www.wubijacq.com/wubijacq-video.ogg" type video/ogg>
<source src="http://www.wubijacq.com/wubijacq-video.webm" type video/webm>
</video>
*variables

How to convert this video clip into these three files . Starting on Linux, usually you got a OGV file. Convert OGV to MP4 with FFmpeg :0.6 ubuntu, command-line is easy:
ffmpeg -i wubijacq-video.ogv wubijacq-video.mp4
Convert MP4 to WEBM:
ffmpeg -i video.mp4 -f webm -vcodec libvpx -acodec libvorbis -ab 160000 -crf 22 video.webm
Convert OGV to WEBM is not easy with FFmpeg . Try Miro-converter to convert OGV to WEBM

.htaccess is a file in the directory root of your site (used most of time for HTTP Redirection). If do you not get .htaccess, do it yourself. Windows do not accept the point before .htaccess. So with Notepad++. let's create a htaccess log. Then, when uploading with Filezilla, on the right column, right-clic on htaccess and rename to .htaccess
